Child abuse is when a child is being neglected either physically, emotionally, or is being sexually mistreated. The issue of child abuse is important because it can have severe negative effects on a child. These include lack of trust, low self-esteem, the impairment of cognitive or motor ability, and forming relationship.


Prevent child abuse by:



  • Once you have suspicions of any abuse, report it immediately whether it be a neighbor, friend, or relative.
  • Volunteer at a child abuse prevention program.
  • Be a nurturing parent.
  • Hotline for child abuse 1-800-4-A-CHILD(1-800-422-4453)
